The Society of Professional Journalists Central California Chapter is dedicated to strengthening local journalism in Central California by building community, advocating for press freedom, and providing professional training. We bring together journalists, educators, and students to support ethical reporting and ensure government transparency across our region.
As a newly formed satellite chapter of SPJ Northern California, we are part of a national network committed to protecting the First Amendment, upholding the highest standards of ethics, and supporting those who tell the stories that matter most.
Thanks to the support of the Central Valley Journalism Collaborative, SPJ CenCal membership is free for all founding members during our first year. Members receive access to trainings, events, and resources as we build this chapter and amplify the collective voice of journalists from across the region.
